Children's Calendar

Sunday Mornings

Available for ages 0 to 3 during Sunday school and worship. Ages 3 to 6 attend Godly Play during worship. The nursery is staffed by two trained adult caregivers and is located on the ground level next to the sanctuary.

Pre-k to 2nd Grade Class
Following the lectionary, children learn biblical stories they will remember for a lifetime with colorful engaging gizmos, scripture melodies, dramas, and more. Meets upstairs.

3rd to 5th Grade Class
Following the lectionary, children learn about biblical stories and how they relate to daily life. Meets upstairs.

Children’s Church on Sundays
After the children’s sermon during worship, children ages 3 to 6 go upstairs to the Godly Play room. Godly Play is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. This program teaches classical Christian language in a way that enhances the child’s authentic experience of God so it can contribute to the creative life of the child and the world.


Special Events

Vacation Bible School
For grades Pre-k to 6th during the summer. Children participate in a week-long camp with arts and crafts, science discovery, music, missions, and bible storytelling. The kids learn about God in a fun and meaningful way!

Children’s Choir
For ages Pre-k through 6th. Children perform four times per year during worship. Practice takes place after worship upstairs on designated Sundays. Lunch is provided. 

Children’s Fellowship
Once a quarter on a Saturday, the children have a special event. Events have included Claxton Family Farm Day, roller skating, Water Park, pumpkin party, arts and crafts, etc.

Children-led Worship Services
The children lead the congregation in worship for Children’s Sabbath Sunday and the Family Christmas service.

Project Transformation
After school and summer day camp program for children in grades 1st to 5th from low-income families. Components of program include one to one reading with a volunteer, recreation, nutritious meals, enrichment activities, and family fun nights. This program maintains and improves a child’s literacy.
