Our History

Built in 1903, Grace is a historic building with city, state, and national historic markers. It is one of the best examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Dallas. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in the city, the sanctuary is framed by 15 massive stained glass windows.

Grace Church is the oldest congregation in Dallas worshiping in the same location. Our church has seen over a century of change in the neighborhood. At the end of the twentieth century, affluent residents moved north, and East Dallas became an ethnically diverse, working class community. Many neighborhood churches moved out of the inner city.

Grace was one of few that stayed. We embrace the diversity and look forward to continuing our much-needed ministries to this community for the next hundred years.
